Document Editor Overview
After uploading and processing a document, Document Transcribe provides a powerful editor interface to review and refine your content. This guide explains how to navigate and use the editing features.
Accessing the Editor
To access the document editor:
- Navigate to your collection dashboard
- Click on the document you want to edit
- The editor will open automatically, displaying your document content
Editor Interface
The editor interface consists of several key components:
- Document Panel - The main area where you can view and edit your document content
- Page Navigation - Controls to move between document pages
- Tool Bar - Quick access to editing functions and formatting options
- Info Panel - Additional information about the document, including metadata
Basic Editing
To edit your document content:
- Click anywhere in the text to position your cursor
- Type to add or modify content
- Use standard keyboard shortcuts for cut (Ctrl/Cmd+X), copy (Ctrl/Cmd+C), and paste (Ctrl/Cmd+V)
- Press Enter to create a new paragraph
- Remember to click the "Save" button to preserve your changes
Working with Pages
If your document contains multiple pages:
- Use the page navigation controls to move between pages
- Click on the page number indicator to jump to a specific page
- Each page is edited independently
Working with Document Metadata
If you've generated metadata for your document:
- Click the "Metadata" button to view document information
- Edit metadata fields directly in the metadata panel
- Add or remove tags to better categorize your document
- Use the "Copy to Title/Description" feature to update document details
Saving Your Work
Document Transcribe requires you to manually save your changes:
- Click the "Save" button in the toolbar to save your current edits
- Look for a confirmation message that your changes have been saved
- Save frequently to avoid losing your work
- A notification will appear if there are unsaved changes
