Document Transcribe

Understanding the Interface

Learn how to navigate and use the Document Transcribe interface to maximize your productivity.

Dashboard Overview

The dashboard is your starting point in Document Transcribe. Here you'll find:

  • Collection List - All your collections displayed as cards with preview images
  • New Collection Button - Located at the top right to create new collections
  • Search Bar - To quickly find specific collections by name
  • Sort Options - To organize collections by date, name, or status
  • Navigation Menu - On the left side for accessing different sections of the app
  • Account Menu - Access your profile and settings in the top right corner

Collection View

When you open a collection, you'll see:

  • Collection Header - Shows collection name, creation date, and options menu
  • Document List - Displays all documents within the collection as cards
  • Upload Button - To add new documents to the collection
  • Process with AI Button - To initiate transcription/translation on selected documents
  • Batch Selection - Checkboxes to select multiple documents for processing
  • Document Status Indicators - Shows processing status (queued, in progress, completed)

Upload Interface

The upload interface includes:

  • Drag & Drop Area - The main zone where you can drop files
  • File Browser Button - To select files from your computer
  • Supported Formats Indicator - Shows accepted file types (JPG, PNG, PDF)
  • Upload Progress Bar - Displays upload status for each file
  • PDF Uploader - Special section for PDF document uploads

Document Processing Options

After selecting documents and clicking "Process with AI", you'll see these options:

  • Processing Type:
    • Transcribe Only - Extracts text without translation
    • Transcribe and Translate - Extracts and translates text
  • Source Language Selector - Drop-down to select your document's language
  • Target Language Selector - For translation, select the output language
  • Batch Processing Controls - Options to process all or individual documents
  • Start Button - To begin the AI processing

Document Editor

The document editor interface contains:

  • Document Toolbar - At the top with editing and export options
  • Save Button - To save your changes (not automatic)
  • Content Area - The main editing space for document text
  • Page Navigation - For multi-page documents, controls to switch pages
  • Document Info Panel - Toggle-able sidebar with document details
  • Search Tool - To find text within the document (Ctrl/Cmd+F)
  • Metadata Button - To view and edit document metadata (if generated)
  • Export/Download Button - To save document in various formats
  • Share Button - To create share links for the document

Metadata Interface

When accessing document metadata, you'll see:

  • Metadata Fields - Document title, author, date, language, etc.
  • Tags Section - Where metadata tags are displayed and can be managed
  • Generate Metadata Button - Creates AI-generated metadata
  • Copy to Title/Description - To use metadata in document properties
  • Edit Controls - To modify individual metadata fields

Share Interface

The document sharing interface includes:

  • Sharing Toggle - To enable/disable public access
  • Share Link - The URL others can use to access your document
  • Copy Link Button - To copy the URL to your clipboard
  • Regenerate Link - To create a new share link (invalidating the old one)
  • Access Statistics - Information about views of your shared document

Export Options

When exporting documents, you'll find these options:

  • Format Selector - Choose from multiple export formats:
    • Markdown (.md)
    • Plain Text (.txt)
    • JSON (.json)
    • CSV (.csv)
    • Microsoft Word (.docx)
    • PDF (.pdf)
  • Include Metadata Checkbox - Option to include metadata in the export
  • Export Button - To generate and download the document

Settings Interface

In the settings area, you can access:

  • Account Information - Your profile details and settings
  • Subscription Management - View and change your subscription plan
  • Usage Statistics - Information about your document processing usage

Navigation Tips

To move efficiently around Document Transcribe:

  • Use breadcrumbs at the top of the page to navigate back to previous screens
  • Click the logo to return to the dashboard from anywhere
  • Use keyboard shortcuts for common actions (hover over buttons to see shortcuts)
  • Search functionality is available in collection and document lists
